It is definitely an exciting time to be entering the PA profession! With the evolving world of healthcare there is a great need for PAs!
It is typically most helpful if you know a PA to shadow or find a PA at a local clinic or hospital. Along the way, we recommend keeping a log of the hours spent shadowing. For admission into most Texas PA schools, shadowing hours are encouraged but usually not required. We understand that it can be difficult to find a PA to shadow. As an alternative to shadowing, it is encouraged and valued by most PA schools to partake in community service activities in a medical setting, such as assisting in healthcare delivery to underserved populations or mission trips.
You may become a member of our society where you will have the opportunity to interact with our members at our annual conference. In addition, stay tuned for other potential opportunities to meet PAs!
